Dr. Doherty is thrilled to work with the aesthetic industry in both research and clinical education. For several years, Dr. Doherty has worked as a speaker and trainer for leading injectable and aesthetic companies, including Allergan and Galderma. Dr. Doherty has sat on Advisory Boards for these companies where he discussed and evaluated injectable procedures as well as new uses for products. He also speaks and demonstrates on a local and national level for both companies. He instructs other physicians and medical professionals on safe and effective injection techniques.
In addition, Dr. Doherty has worked with Cynosure, Inc. as their Medical Director from 2013-2025. He worked on both clinical and bench-work research related to laser and other aesthetic energy-based treatments. Dr. Doherty was an investigator in the clinical studies that lead to the FDA approval of the non-invasive body contouring device SculpSure, as well as the 1540nm and 2940nm facial rejuvenation lasers, PICOSure for tattoo removal and facial rejuvenation and TempSure for body and facial rejuvenation and tightening with radiofrequency. Dr. Doherty continues worked closely with the clinical staff, engineers and scientists at Cynosure, to advance the aesthetic energy-based technology. In 2024, Lutronic, Inc, an international laser and energy-based technology company acquired Cynosure. Dr. Doherty currently works as the Assistant Medical Director for Cynosure-Lutronic, Inc.
